Your Privacy is Our Concern

 The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts generally prohibit us from sharing non-public personal information about you with a third party unless we provide you with this notice of our privacy policies and practices describing the type of information that we collect about you and the categories of persons or entities to whom that information may be disclosed.  In compliance with the GLBA and the laws of the Commonwealth, we are providing you with this document which notifies you of the privacy policies and practices of Humphrey, Covill & Coleman Insurance Agency, Inc.

Types and Sources of Information We Collect About You

 We collect non-public personal information about you that is usual and customary to independent insurance agents from the following sources:

  •  Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, which may include but is not limited to, an individual’s name, address, phone number, date of birth, social security number, driver’s license number, date of birth, bank account information, and credit/ debit card information;
  •  Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, which may include but is not limited to, coverages, limits, premiums, payment, and claims information which may include an individual’s personal health information; and,
  •  Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency, which may include but is not limited to, an individual’s driving record from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. 

 To collect personal non-public information from the above-stated sources, we may use the following means of communication to gather information: in hard copy, in-person, by telephone, by facsimile, electronically (such as through email), and online (such as through our website).  

Our Use of the Information We Collect About You

 We do not disclose any non-public personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.  We use the information we collect about you, including the non-public personal information, for purposes of evaluating and servicing your insurance with us. Such usual and customary services or processes include but are not limited to underwriting, shopping the renewal, rating, placement, providing quotes, processing changes, reporting claims, making payments on your behalf, and other servicing of policies that is customary to independent insurance agents.  We share the information described above, as permitted by law or required by law, with third parties, such as insurance companies and rating software vendors we work with, for usual and customary servicing of insurance policies.  We do not sell your information to anyone for marketing purposes.

Information Confidentiality and Security

 We restrict access to non-public personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your non-public personal information. We use a secure Internet and email provider to protect the confidentiality of electronic communications.
